Mountain First Aid

From time to time people have enquired on the topic of training courses for Mountain/Outdoor First Aid.

Its certainly one of those things that's easy to put off but the reality is that occasionally it might prove really useful, or even life-saving.

I've spoken with Paul Lewis who is a Club member and very kindly delivers most of the Club's training requirements at really great prices. Amongst the long list of letters following his name are probably ones which mean that he's an accredited ITC first aid provider - because he is! Basically, it means he knows what he's doing and you get a certificate if you complete one of his 2-day courses.

We, the Club, aren't going to ask Paul to run a First Aid course just for us - the uptake isn't likely to make it worthwhile, but he has offered us the opportunity for Club members to join one of his pre-scheduled courses that he runs from time to time in the Hope valley.

I have talked cost with Paul but suffice to say, here, that for those that are interested he'd make it incredibly good value by essentially letting you join one of his existing courses 'at cost'.

Get in touch with me (meets@mynydd.org.uk) and I'll be happy to co-ordinate.
