February Full Moon
Next Tuesday (7th February) is a 'true' Full Moon evening - apparently it'll happen at 21:54hrs.
Paul Justin was the first to volunteer for one of these escapades back in November and has stoically managed his diary to be able to take us out over Kinder. Hopefully the cold snap will last long enough to keep things firm underfoot.
Judging by his early thoughts on the route, which he'll confirm nearer the time, we might still be on the hill to witness the eponymous event! Meet somewhere near to the Sportmans Pub for a 7pm setoff. There's plenty of parking thereabouts.

Meet outside the Sportsman on Kinder Road (SK 044 867) for a 7pm departure. There is plenty of parking along Kinder Rd near the Sportsman but if its still icy it may be better to park in the village.
I'm thinking up through Elle Bank woods and follow the ridge over Mount Famine to South Head (the dragons back). From there probably complete a figure of 8 route via the bridleways back past Stonehouses. In the dark and snow as a group I suspect this is probably 2 hours.
Lots of alternative options from South Head depending on time/underfoot conditions/enthusiasm. If time allows we could continue towards Brown Knoll to admire the new flagstones and back via Coldwell Clough or Tunstead. Alternatively how about a bumslide down Dimpus Clough in the snow (bring orange poly bags and second sense for where the rocks and fences are).
End at The Sportsman where a sip of the Wainwrights would round off the evening nicely.
